This full critical apparatus to the Gospel according to St. Luke aims at the comprehensiveness of Tischendorf and von Soden. The Textus Receptus is printed with variant readings in Greek manuscripts, early versions, and patristic quotations. As far as the Greek evidence is concerned, all papyri, most uncials, and 128 cursives are consistently cited. Ten lectionaries are cited as representative of the dominant lectionary text, and 31 other examples exhibiting divergent texts are quoted individually. Patristic citations in Greek and Latin up to AD 500 and a selection of the most important in Syriac up to AD 400 are recorded. The provision of indexes to the patristic citations of each verse with references to modern editions makes this an invaluable source-book for scholars interested in the history of exegesis or in patristic theology.
