The third in a three-volume collection of musical settings for today's liturgy, in which provision has been made for a wide range of vocal and instrumental resources. All of the settings contained in the text have a simple refrain for all to sing, alternating with verses for a soloist or a small group of singers, along with an organ or a piano accompaniment. In addition, most of the pieces have optional parts for other instruments and the choir. These contemporary song settings may be freely used in worship by Christians of all denominations, but Anglicans and Roman Catholics should welcome the liturgical indexes that relate the psalm settings both to the "Revised Common Lectionary" and to the "Roman Lectionary".
