Beth Porter is a lecturer in English and a freelance writer. She knew Henri Nouwen as a friend and colleague in the L’Arche Daybreak Community, where she has lived and worked for many years. Philip Coulter worked with L’Arche’s founder Jean Vanier, on his best-selling book, Becoming Human. Susan M. S. Brown worked closely with Henri Nouwen during 1995-96 and on his posthumously published books.
