Martin H. Manser trained as a linguist and his interest in lexicography led him to take up a post as a reference book editor. Since 1980 he has worked freelance compiling and editing a wide range of English-language dictionaries and word books with a contemporary feel. He has also edited and written books to encourage people to read the Bible for themselves.
