These questions are tackled in a volume of essays to honour Scotland's foremost liberal theologian, George Newlands (Professor of Divinity, University of Glasgow). The contributors explore the place of Human Rights in Christian theology, and confront challenges to God's love in a world of injustice. They suggest ways in which human dignity may be progressed, not only through appropriate Christian response, but also though the engagement of theology with culture and the arts. This volume presents a robust defence of Liberal Values as the best means by which Human Dignity may be defended and advanced.
