This book features a bold attempt to scope and analyze the key issues facing, Black Christianity in Britain since the 1950s. Though now over 50 years old, and having experienced great success, Black Christianity is facing an uncertain future as one expression of Christianity that exists in an increasingly secular, plural society. This study shows why, even in the midst of a drive towards ecumenical, inter-faith and multi-cultural cohesion it is crucial that as an advocate for the Black Community there is a thriving Black Christianity that speaks and acts prophetically in the British context. The editors and various contributors to this collection bring both their critical analysis of the past and present as well as their prophetic perspectives on the future; shining a light upon the areas each write about.
