The renowned hymn writer Timothy Dudley-Smith offers 30 new hymns that focus on: the name of Jesus, His incarnation, His person and ministry, His life and teaching, His death and passion, His resurrection and ascension, His reign and return in glory. Timothy Dudley-Smith is widely regarded as Britain's finest living hymn writer and this collection, mostly set to well known tunes, provides a round-the-year resource that can be put to immediate use by choirs and congregations alike. Many of the hymns have rich seasonal associations or relate to particular gospel readings that appear on the lectionary. By writing new words to familiar tunes, this collection can be put to immediate use by choirs and congregations alike.

Timothy Dudley-Smith

Internationally acclaimed hymn writer Timothy Dudley-Smith was an honorary vice-president of the Hymn Society of Great Britain and Ireland, a Fellow of the Hymn Society in the United States and Canada, and a Fellow of the Royal School of Church Music. In 2003 he was awarded an OBE 'for services to hymnody', and in 2009 an honorary Doctor of Divinity (DD) from the University of Durham. He died in 2024.

'The author's texts are always of good quality and are matched by tunes of similar standing. This book will be a useful addition to the repertoire and is not unreasonably priced.' Laudate, October 2009
