A first Children's Bible for young readers to read aloud or alone, including 80 stories from the Old and New Testaments faithfully retold. The stories selected are God-centred, focusing on the unbreakable relationship between God and people through the encounters of people in the Bible with God and with Jesus. In addition to familiar timeless Bible stories, the breadth of the content includes David's psalms, Solomon's wise sayings, and lamentations, as well as writings of the prophets. Along with a sense of understanding the nature of God, and the fulfilment of God's restoring plan through Jesus, children will grasp an understanding of the chronological order of the events and maps provide the location. Pronunciation guides for names of people and places and a useful Glossary are provided. Bible references are provided for further exploration of the stories. Colourful and engaging illustrations bring the stories to life and make this a children's Bible that will be treasured.

Deborah Lock, Skylar White, Lauren Windle

Deborah Lock has been writing and editing children's non-fiction, fiction and educational titles for more than 25 years. She is dedicated to developing products that engage and inspire children, instil a love of reading and lifelong learning, and share the Christian faith. She is a licensed lay minister at her local parish church, leading worship and actively involved with children and youth work, and enjoys singing, drama and dance (which comes in very useful when co-ordinating the children-led Nativity service each year). Skylar White lives in New York with her husband and her cat Alfie. She works primarily in watercolor and acryla-gouache on cold press paper, but also uses digital painting programs like Photoshop and Procreate. Other mediums like acrylic and ink, pens and colored pencils can find their way into the mix, too. Lauren Windle is a journalist, presenter, public speaker and author of three books. Her first, Notes On Love: Being Single and Dating in a Marriage Obsessed Church was published in 2021 by SPCK. Her second, Notes On Feminism: Being a Woman in a Church Led by Men came out in March 2024 and was covered by Sky, Sunday Morning Live, The Belfast Telegraph, The Church Times and many more. Her third, an activity and prayer book Drawing As Prayer, will be out in October. On 22 April 2014 Lauren got clean and sober from a cocaine and alcohol addiction and became a Christian five days later. She has a degree in Neuroscience and a master’s in Addiction Studies from the UK’s leading addiction research centre at King’s College London. She has run several charity recovery courses for people struggling with addiction and consults for churches hoping to improve their support of those seeking freedom. In 2018, Lauren gave a TEDx Talk about her personal story of addiction and recovery which has now been viewed more than half a million times. She regularly speaks about her experiences on podcasts, in articles, at conferences, events, churches and schools.
