This book contains the first comprehensive collection of Seventh-day Adventist texts and statements on interchurch and interfaith relations. With more than 16 million baptized members and about 30 million adherents in total today, this church is a significant global Christian movement. However, Adventist interchurch relations have been characterized by some degree of ambivalence; therefore this collection is an attempt to document a phenomenon found in other less ecumenically inclined denominations as well. At the same time, the texts in this book can serve to enlighten the thinking in churches that lack enthusiasm for the Ecumenical Movement but still do attempt to cooperate with other Christians and even non-Christians in ways that are compatible with their specific convictions.
Contents: Interchurch Relations: Resolutions, Statements, and Other Texts (1867-2003) – Interchurch Relations: Dialogue Documents (1970-2007) – Interfaith Relations – Bibliography on Adventist Interchurch and Interfaith Relations.

Daniel Heinz, Stefan Höschele

Stefan Höschele, Ph.D., is lecturer of systematic theology and mission studies at Friedensau Adventist University (Theologische Hochschule Friedensau), Germany, since 2003, and taught theology at Tanzania Adventist College (now University of Arusha) from 1997 to 2003.

"The overall importance of this book cannot be dismissed. Hoeschele has prepared a seminal contribution to the Seventh-day Adventist Church and Christian and religious world as a whole. This book is a must-have for those interested in the topic, and it receives my full recommendation." (Kevin Burton, Seminary Studies 52, 2014)
