Jane William's widely read and much enjoyed Church Times columns brought together in one volume for the first time. In Lectionary Reflections, Jane Williams aims to help us engage with the Sunday readings in the Revised Common Lectionary for Years A, B & C. Each section gives the lectionary references and provides a thought-provoking starting point for exploring the readings, drawing out points of connection between them. Intelligently written and inspiring, Lectionary Reflections will prove invaluable in preparation for Sunday worship or for regular Bible study throughout the year. It will be of use to both groups and individuals for opening up the Bible and applying its rich teaching and stories.

Dr Jane Williams

Jane was born in India, one of five sisters, and read Theology at Cambridge University before going on to work in theological publishing and education. She is a tutor in Theology at St Mellitus College, London and Chelmsford, and a Visiting Lecturer at King's College, London. She also works as a Lecturer at the St Paul's Theological Centre, and for Redemptorist Publications. She is the author of several books including Approaching Easter, Approaching Christmas, Angel and mst recently Faces of Christ. Jane has been married to Rowan since 1981 and together they have a sonand a daughter. Jane Williams said many Christians felt uncomfortable talking about their beliefs and feared that doing so was 'not politicallycorrect'. But 'lazy' and 'scornful' attitudes towards people of faith in Britain must be challenged, she said, urging Christians to be more prepared to 'argue our corner'.

The author is a person of considerable scholarship and imaginative skill so that each of her reflection offers something fresh and valuable. * thegoodbookstall * Everyone will find this books helps them get more out of the Sunday readings at the Eucharist. * Church of England Newspaper *
